We are searching for a passionate artist to decorate beautiful custom cakes, cookies and cupcakes at our award-winning Fishtown bakeshop. This is a part time position. Home decorators are welcome to apply!
Requirements:
- A positive self-starting attitude and sense of humor
- An abundance of joyful creativity
- At least 2 years of decorating experience (pro or ambitious home baker)
- Enthusiasm for sales calls and great rapport with customers
Experience, and/or willingness to learn skills such as:
- Torting, filling and icing perfectly level cakes
- Mixing beautiful colors
- Modeling 3D figures and objects out of fondant
- Making gumpaste flowers
- Piping vintage style cakes
- Decorating custom cookies
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a positive and supportive kitchen environment
- Decorating cakes, cookies and cupcakes
- Taking new orders via phone, email and text
- Completing scheduled sales calls with customers
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Maintaining clean workspaces
- Helping with classes and workshops
- Assisting with store opening closing as appropriate
Hours:
- We estimate an average of 20-30 hours per week, depending on our weekly number of orders
- Shifts will likely be 4-5 days per week
Pay:
- Hourly wage commensurate with experience
- Paid time off
